The candidate journey can be an exhilarating process full of challenges and intrigue, as you don’t always know what you will come up against. For the battle hardened Candidate, this is par for the course. But for an individual with long tenure, for example, the candidate journey can be one of apprehension, confusion, hesitation or intimidation, even at senior level.
The journey, of course, starts long before the interview process. For a headhunted candidate, this will be at the point of the first approach call, often out of the blue. However, for an active candidate, the journey starts at the job application from an advert, or an approach from a Recruiter who has sourced them via a database or job board.
The fact is, that all candidates are on a journey. Therefore, it is essential that the Headhunter or Executive Search Consultant , as well as the Client stakeholders provide the best possible Candidate Experience if they are to ensure buy-in and commitment to the process, maximum interest in the opportunity and for the Client to keep a good reputation in the marketplace.
